CHIEF PEOPLES OFFICER (CPO)- HUMAN RESOURCES
Job Scope
Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the human resources processes within the Bank. This includes talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management developing and retaining employees. CPO ensures these processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to managers/ departments in the recruitment and selection of all staff.
- Work closely with senior and line managers, providing them with guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities (including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, restructuring of services, performance management, redundancy planning etc.)
- Keep up to date with legal developments and advise management on compliance and risk factors.
- Manage investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Provide advice and guidance on individual employee relations cases, ensuring that these are well managed and meet the requirements of the Bank’s policies, best practice and employment Act of Maldives.
- Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the bank, and ensure that the staff handbook is comprehensive and up-to-date.
- Ensure that managers and staff are aware of the policies and procedures and able to operate them effectively.
- Provide support to staff on HR issues, as and when required.
- Monitor and review the system of performance appraisal and continually develop as necessary, ensuring that annual appraisals are fairly evaluated and ensure Bell curve is maintained.
- In consultation with line managers, follow-up individual development needs and source external training provision as and when required, monitoring training costs against budget.
- Oversee the Bank’s Development and Training function and coordinate employee training programs.
- Administer & monitor the evaluation of all learning and development activities.
- Assist with any training initiatives, as required.
- Monitor sickness and absence levels and provide monthly management reports.
- Represent HR and participate in various internal groups and committees across the Bank.
- Review and manage induction programs including conducting exit interviews for all staff.
- Monitor HR trends throughout the Bank and provide management information as and when required.
- Manage and oversee the HR database and personnel files to ensure it is updated in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support managers and provide generalist HR advice, to ensure the effective management of staff to achieve the goals of the Bank.
- Oversee Employees health insurance and pension scheme and ensure coverage to all employees as per the relevant policies.
- Ensure Payroll administration is done efficiently timely.
- Provide CEO, feedback about workplace behaviour.
- Keep CEO informed about staff dynamics across all levels in the Bank.
- Motivate Staff to perform beyond their daily tasks.
- Ensure work representation to People of Determination
- Conduct Succession Planning across Departments
- Organize staff welfare activities in association of Staff Association
- Provide candid feedback to Senior staff including CEO about their work and staff interaction.
- Act as Secretary for Board Nomination and Remuneration Committee (BNRC) and manage the BNRC meetings.
- Regular presentation to BNRC & Board in all HR matters.
- Initiate initiatives to enhance staff work efficiency and output.
- Enhance workplace ergonomics and ensure hygiene premise is maintained to create a positive working environment.
- Ensure entertainment budget is allocated and utilized by departments.
- Ensure Gender balance is maintained throughout.
- Provide an inclusive work environment in the Bank.
- Eliminate workplace bullying, any form of harassment or discrimination in the Bank.
- Liase with Government and relevant authorities in all HR related matters.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in related field with minimum 02 years of work experience in a similar field OR,
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field with minimum 03 years of work experience in a similar field.
- Proficiency in MS office suite of applications.
- Ability to plan, multitask and manage time effectively.
- Highly driven and self-motivated individuals with good interpersonal and communication skills.
- High degree of independence and positive attitude towards work commitments.
- Take lead in audit assignments with moderate or minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills, sound professional judgement and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good command of English (both oral and written communication).
- Maintain highest level of integrity and independence.
