RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT PLANNING & ACCOUNTABILITY

  1. Develop an overall implementation strategy and multi-year workplan for the project.
  2. Liaise with Project Coordinator in setting priorities.
  3. Oversee the Project Officers’ to plan the various stages of project implementation and set direction by prioritizing and organizing activities and resources to achieve the project’s objectives.
  4. Ensure that Accountability is prioritised through every activity and phase of the project implementation, and that all project staff are engaged in full capacity.

 

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION FOLLOW-UP

  1. Oversee the implementation of the project’s activities.
  2. Develop project concepts & supporting documents.
  3. Oversee Project Officer to ensure teams deliver project outputs.
  4. Organize regular project coordination meetings with the project team.
  5. Review progress against the project targets and outputs on at least a monthly basis, and address any delays or challenges, communicating openly on these to the coordinator.
  6. Review project budget expenditure and forecasting to ensure accurate monthly financial analysis and reporting.
  7. Ensure that the project is implemented in accordance with LSM SOPs and donor guidelines.
  8. Anticipate and mitigate risks and trouble-shoot any unforeseen challenges during the project implementation.
  9. Use project management tools to keep a continual overview of the project status, to identify, flag, and address project risks, and to report to supervisor

 

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  1. Support, facilitate or undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult and involve beneficiaries, key informants, actors, partners, and stakeholders in all stages of project design and implementation.
  2. Cultivate good relations with key stakeholders both local and international through regular attendance at technical meetings and bilateral meetings.
  3. Where relevant, liaise with donors and work closely with partners on project updates, site visits and other communication.
  4. Identify opportunities to collaborate and coordinate efforts with other organizations.

 

QUALITY CONTROL

  1. Assess the activities undertaken and ensure efficient use of resources.
  2. Undertake assigned field visits to provide technical guidance and supervision as well as regularly monitor the progress of project activities.
  3. Ensure lessons learned are documented, shared, and reflected in project planning and decision making.
  4. Advise on, and assist with, project reviews conducted by donor.
  5. Ensure quality control, analysis of added value and impact, identification and capitalization on best practices and lessons learnt and provide relevant feedback for new project development.
  6. Identify and analyze gaps, synergies and opportunities.

 

REPORTING

  1. Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to coordinator and other team members.
  2. Draft (internal) narrative reports and development financial reports through regular budgetary follow up.
  3. Draft of (external) project progress reports, ensuring the quality and accuracy of technical information provided.

 

OPERATIONS

  1. Establish and maintain filing and project management systems.
  2. Contribute to conception, setting-up, implementation, and evaluation of other projects.
  3. Contribute to the development of workplans and schedules across all the projects to ensure effective implementation of projects and management of tasks.
  4. Support other project teams in delivery, if and where required.
  5. Travel to islands, to conduct workshops or events.
  6. Conduct and support relevant trainings for communities targeted to their empowerment and awareness in association with LSM training institute.
  7. Participate in domestic and international events/seminar.

 

COMPETENCIES

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills including good command of both written and spoken English and Dhivehi
  • Result oriented: Ability to work independently and ability to get things done.
  • Management: Organizing skills for effective and smooth operational flow.
  • Technology: Experience with or willingness to learn how to use online tools & software to manage work and conduct meetings; Familiarity with MS office package.
  • Innovation and creativity: Ability to come up with new ideas to achieve objectives and make new and useful ideas work.
