General Requirements

  • Sc. in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse at a Licensing Authority
  • Minimum 5 years in nursing practice and minimum 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Ability to plan and prioritize
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

 

Job Specification

  • Responsible for managing the systems, processes and resources of Intensive Care Unit
  • Supervise and monitor clinical care services for guests
  • Ensure staff maintain own clinical records and reports
  • Be proficient in all clinical and psychomotor skills relevant to the chosen field
  • Demonstrate competency in unit specific competencies
  • Observe and ensure Infection Control guidelines and policies are adhered to
  • Ensure management of equipment and resources effectively and efficiently
  • Identify potential variances and high clinical risk situations
  • Implement effective management strategies
  • Mentor and support all members of the nursing team
  • Ensure staff practice within their identified scope of practice
  • Utilize quick decision making skills to clinically manage unpredicted acute situations
  • Participate in the clinical development, review and assessments of clinical practice
  • Assessments of nursing competence of all members of the clinical team
  • Responsible for ensuring safe and high level of nursing care is delivered
