General Requirements
Degree in Hotel & Catering Management or any relevant field
Minimum 4 years experience in all aspects of housekeeping with 2 years supervisory post
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work in a diverse environment
International experience is an added advantage
Proven ability to successfully lead and motivate a large team providing strong and positive leadership whilst guiding the strategic direction of the Hospital
High level of computer skills using MS Office programs and web-based reporting system
Job Specification
Develop and implement cleaning protocols and procedures.
Ensure all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, public spaces, and administrative areas, are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
Monitor and inspect cleaning processes to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and personal protective gear
Order and restock supplies as needed to support housekeeping operations
Develop and manage the department's budget, including labor and supply costs
Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficient resource utilization
Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory cleanliness and safety standards
Implement infection control measures and protocols to prevent the spread of infections within the hospital
Provide ongoing training and education to housekeeping staff on cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and infection control measures
Keep the team informed about any updates in regulations or best practices
Establish quality control measures to assess the cleanliness and hygiene of hospital areas
Conduct regular inspections and address any issues promptly
Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and maintenance, to coordinate cleaning schedules and address facility needs
Communicate effectively with hospital administration regarding housekeeping operations and budgetary concerns
Develop and implement emergency response plans for cleaning and sanitization during disease outbreaks or other crises
Implement waste reduction and recycling initiatives
Maintain records of cleaning activities, inspections, and staff training
Prepare reports for hospital administration and regulatory agencies as required
Respond to patient and visitor concerns or complaints related to cleanliness
Foster a culture of exceptional customer service within the housekeeping team
Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficiency measures
Perform other duties as requested by management
