Board Certified / Unencumbered License or registration from home country
Minimum Post Graduate Specialist Degree, MD
Minimum 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities
Additional Fellowship/ Boards preferred
Current BLS/ ACLS / PALS ATLS certification
Adaptable and able to work in a multicultural team
Flexible and able to manage stress
Must have worked in a hospital with no less than 150 bed capacity
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
Experience in management of patients with life threatening illnesses and injuries in a hospital emergency room or urgent care facilities
Job Specification
Respond to patients’ medical problems by reviewing their history, physical examination and investigations, reaching to a probable diagnosis, appropriate evidence based treatment, counseling and referral where necessary
Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient’s medical history
Order laboratory and Radiological investigations and interpret their results
Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
Perform Procedures as privileged
Prescribe or administer medications, therapy and other specialized care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
Educate patients about the advantages, disadvantages, risks and alternatives regarding a proposed treatment or operation
Explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients
Provide general pre and post-operative care
Monitor and administer medication when indicated
Evaluate effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggest improvements
Keep General practitioners informed about care of their patients where indicated
Use resources efficiently for the benefit of patients and the public
Provide adequate follow-up to the patient within a reasonable amount of time
Examine and provide treatments to injuries and refer patients to other physicians when needed (ophthalmologists, orthopedists, neurologists etc.)
Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at TTH
