Maldives Business School is seeking a meticulous and driven Accountant to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. If you are a financial professional looking to manage robust accounting practices in a supportive and growth-oriented academic environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

As an accountant, you will play a vital role in maintaining our financial health and regulatory compliance. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Financial Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate financial records in strict compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Ledger & Statements: Managing the general ledger and preparing financial statements.
• Reconciliation & Budgeting: Reconciling accounts and actively supporting budget planning and financial reporting.
• Daily Operations: Processing invoices, managing payroll, and tracking daily institutional expense
• Analysis & Insights: Providing data-driven financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensuring timely tax filings, maintaining tax compliance, and assisting with both internal and external audit

Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Certifications: Professional credentials such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA are highly preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience working as an accountant or in an equivalent financial role.
• Technical Skills: * Strong knowledge of core accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in industry-standard accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP).
• Advanced MS Excel skills, specifically for data analysis.
• Core Competencies: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
