SYSTEMS IMPLEMENTOR & ADMINISTRATOR (3) - TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Job Scope

Responsible for research, identify, and resolve issues related to e-banking systems and card systems including ATMs, CDM, ECRM and POS terminals. The scope also extends to the back-end servers that these e-banking systems are connected which includes other infrastructure servers. Additionally, responsible for install, configure, maintain and administer systems and servers including the backups and life-cycle-management of these servers. The purpose also covers monitoring and maintaining the Bank's Financial Transaction Switch and related systems, including logs and dispute management of these transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for financial transactions to ensure maximum up-time for banking services.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers on resolving technical issues.
  • Taking ownership of technical issues and working with vendors and service providers to resolve more advanced issues when necessary.
  • Review and implement security measures for information systems to regulate access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure of information.
  • Configure and maintain IBM WebSphere application server.
  • Monitor IT equipment such as servers and other systems and report the status to the head of department.
  • Monitory ATM, and POS network and ensure the maximum uptime of services.
  • Plan and conduct preventive maintenance of ATMs.
  • Documenting troubleshooting and problem resolution steps.
  • Generate complex reports using scripts, report writers and other tools.
  • Maintain up-to-date contacts of support services.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for the department.
  • Assist in maintaining, upgrading computer applications, operating systems and their associated architecture and environment.
  • Assist in taking system backups, testing backup. Assist in conduct trial runs in disaster recovery policy.
  • Assist in installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of servers and other IT equipment.
  • Any other task assigned by HOD / Management.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, with minimum 2 years of work experience. OR,
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, with minimum 3 years of work experience. OR,
  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with minimum 5 years of work experience.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Visa/Mastercard-specific certifications, PCI-DSS related certifications) is an advantage.

Technical Skills;

  • Strong knowledge of card management systems and ATM switch platforms.
  • Expertise in managing ATM, POS, and card networks.
  • Experience with payment systems integration (e.g., VisaNet, Mastercard systems).
  • Familiarity with payment networks messaging protocols and other financial transaction standards.
  • Familiarity with hardware security module (HSM), key management and cryptography.
  • Knowledge of encryption and security protocols used in card payment systems.
  • Proficiency in working with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments.
  • Database management skills, particularly with Oracle, SQL Server, or similar.

Professional Skills;

  • Strong project planning and execution skills.
  • Ability to manage timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with business teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Work Experience;

  • Work experience (at least 2 years with a Master's, 3 years with a Bachelor's, or 5 years with a Diploma) in card operations or related roles within a financial institution or payment service provider.
  • Experience implementing new card networks and schemes.
  • Experience implementing new payment features such as tokenization, 3D Secure, or contactless payments.
  • Proven experience managing Visa and Mastercard acquiring/issuing technical operations.
  • Hands-on experience in supporting daily operational matters for card and payment systems.
  • Familiarity with Visa and Mastercard compliance requirements.
  • Experience in monitoring system performance, ensuring uptime, and minimizing downtime.
  • Proficiency in identifying and mitigating risks associated with card networks.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors for card systems, switches, or network integrations.
  • Proven ability to work closely with business teams to address operational issues.
