The duties of a storekeeper generally fall into four main categories:
Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, conducting regular physical counts (stocktaking), and reconciling discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
Receiving & Inspection: Unloading incoming shipments, verifying them against purchase orders and packing lists, and inspecting items for any damage or defects.
Storage & Organization: Organizing the warehouse layout to optimize space, labeling units correctly, and ensuring goods are stored safely and logically.
Issuance & Dispatch: Processing internal requisitions, picking and packing items for delivery, and maintaining detailed logs of all materials leaving the store
