Responsibilities;

  1. Initiate, draft, review, and pursue legal contracts, agreements, subcontracts, and related documentation as required, ensuring that all legal obligations under such instruments are monitored and complied with.
  2. Ensure that all licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals for the properties remain valid and in full compliance with applicable legal requirements, and carry out routine inspections to verify ongoing compliance.
  3. Facilitate inspections by government authorities, coordinate with resort management teams during such inspections, and ensure timely rectification of any observations or compliance findings.
  4. Prepare, issue, and review legal letters, notices, and formal correspondences as required, ensuring that the company’s legal position is protected at all times.
  5. Represent the Company in tribunals and courts of the Maldives, including preparing submissions, coordinating with counsel where necessary, and ensuring proper conduct of all legal proceedings involving the Company.
  6. Ensure that all development projects are undertaken in accordance with relevant government rules, regulations, approvals, and environmental requirements, and monitor project progress and report to governmental agencies as required.
  7. Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies, guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across all business units.
  8. Carry out any other duties assigned by Management in line with the Company’s legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

Requirements;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or Shari’ah & Law.
  • Licensed to Practice Law in the Maldives.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an administrative or legal position.
  • Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and compliance requirements applicable to the Maldivian hospitality sector.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and remain available to address urgent matters as required
