Position Title: Occupational Therapist (full-time or part-time, local or expatriate)

Reports To: Clinic Manager

Work Location: Oasis Health Clinic, Male 

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Occupational Therapist will play a crucial role in assessing, treating, and supporting patients with physical, mental, or developmental conditions that impact their daily functioning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational therapy techniques and a passion for helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs related to daily activities.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients' functional abilities and independence.
  • Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, including activity adaptation, skill development, and environmental modifications.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, techniques, and strategies to support recovery and daily living.
  • Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment approaches as needed.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physiotherapists, doctors, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Stay updated on the latest research, techniques, and best practices in occupational therapy.
  • Promote awareness about occupational health and safety and participate in community health education initiatives.
  • Adhere to safety, hygiene, and ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Valid license or registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
  • Proven experience in clinical or community settings treating a variety of physical, mental, or developmental conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient-focused, and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques, activity modification, and assistive devices.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, cognitive processes, and environmental adaptations.
