Position Overview

The Head of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for building and leading the Bank’s end-to-end operational functions. The role ensures operational excellence across digital and branch banking, enabling scalable growth, strong governance, and consistently high-quality customer service.

This is a founding leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee all operational functions, including branches, digital channels, and back-office operations.
Drive service excellence, turnaround times, and customer experience across all delivery channels.
Ensure operational readiness for new products, platforms, and system implementations.
Implement strong governance, operational controls, and compliance with Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) requirements.
Coordinate execution across key functions including IT, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Credit, and Business.
Build, lead, and develop high-performing operations teams.

Candidate Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related discipline (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 15 years’ experience in banking or financial services, with senior leadership experience in operations
Strong expertise in multi-channel operations, service delivery, and operational risk management
Experience in bank start-ups, transformation programmes, or operational build-outs is a strong advantage
Sound understanding of banking regulatory requirements
Must meet Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) fit-and-proper criteria
