Job Description

SENIOR ENGINEER – LUXURY RESOERT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AT K. VAAGALI ISLAND

OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer for a luxury resort development in the Maldives. The
successful candidate will oversee site execution, project planning, construction coordination, and
drawing reviews across structural, architectural finishing, and MEP works. The role requires strong
leadership in managing contractors, ensuring quality delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams,
and meeting project timelines and client expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Construction Works & Site Execution
• Supervise daily construction activities across structural, architectural finishing, and MEP
works.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety
procedures.
• Monitor workmanship quality and resolve on-site technical issues promptly.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure works are executed according to project requirements.
Project Planning & Scheduling
• Prepare and maintain rolling 3-week look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor project progress, critical path activities, and trade sequencing.
• Conduct weekly planning and coordination meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Identify delays and develop recovery plans to maintain project timelines.
Contractors Management
• Act as the primary on-site point of contact for contractors and subcontractors.
• Monitor daily manpower, productivity, equipment utilization, and work progress.
• Coordinate trade interfaces and resolve site conflicts efficiently.
• Manage site instructions, variations, and progress reporting.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
• Lead Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities in coordination with MEP and finishing teams.
• Prepare and manage punch lists and defect rectification processes.
• Ensure all systems and finishes meet project completion and handover standards.
• Support final inspections and project close-out documentation.

Interdisciplinary Coordination & Client Expectations
• Coordinate between design consultants, contractors, suppliers, and the client team.
• Review drawings and identify clashes or coordination issues between disciplines.
• Ensure client expectations regarding finishes, functionality, and quality are properly
implemented.
• Maintain effective communication across all project stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of construction experience, including at least 2 years in a Senior Engineer
role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Maldives hospitality / resort development projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, finishing standards, and MEP coordination.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced site environment.

LOCATION
Maldives (Resort Construction Site-Based)
SALARY
USD 2,000 – 2,500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
