Position Title: Sales Assistant
Department: Retail Operations
Location: The Body Shop – Maldives
Reporting To: Store Supervisor / Store Manager
Working Hours: As per company roster (Shift-based)
The Sales Assistant plays a key role in delivering The Body Shop’s renowned customer experience. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, achieving sales targets, maintaining store standards, and representing the brand’s values of sustainability, ethical beauty, and cruelty-free products.
Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming store environment.
Understand customer needs and recommend suitable skincare, body care, hair care, and cosmetic products.
Provide product demonstrations and explain the benefits, ingredients, and usage.
Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets set by the management.
Assist customers in making confident and informed purchase decisions.
Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
Maintain deep knowledge of all products, including new releases, best sellers, and ingredient benefits.
Stay updated on promotions, offers, membership benefits, and product campaigns.
Educate customers on The Body Shop’s ethics, sustainability initiatives, and cruelty-free values.
Ensure shelves are fully stocked, neatly arranged, and visually appealing.
Follow merchandising guidelines and seasonal displays as instructed by the Store Manager.
Check product expiry dates and rotate stock regularly (FIFO).
Assist in receiving, tagging, and organizing new inventory.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the store, including testers and display areas.
Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
Process customer transactions, returns, and exchanges as per company policy.
Handle cash, card, and digital payments responsibly.
Maintain accuracy in daily cash reconciliation and submit reports to the Supervisor.
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve overall store performance.
Follow grooming standards and represent The Body Shop brand professionally.
Attend staff meetings, training programs, and product workshops.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Minimum O’Level completion; Diploma in Sales/Marketing is an advantage.
Previous retail or cosmetics sales experience preferred but not mandatory.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for beauty, skincare, and ethical products.
Friendly, energetic, and customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work under pressure and achieve sales targets.
Basic computer and POS operation skills.
Fluency in Dhivehi and English (preferred).
Well-groomed, confident, and positive personality.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
