1. Research Assistant shall be paid monthly remuneration of MVR 5020.00/- (Five Thousand and Twenty Rufiyaa Only) for the services provided by the Research Assistant, except for unauthorized leave.
2. Research Assistant will be entitled to a monthly service allowance of MVR 1500/- (One Thousand Five Hundred Rufiyaa Only), and a special duty allowance that is 35% of the basic salary per month.
3. Research Assistant is also entitled to a monthly supporting-co allowance of MVR 700/- (Seven Hundred Rufiyaa Only) per month.
4. Training and travel expenses under the PMU as budgeted under the Project and approved by implementing agencies.
5. S/he shall participate in the “Maldives Retirement Pension Scheme” as required by the Maldives Pension Law and its regulations.

ވަޒީފާގެ ތަފްޞީލު

The overall responsibilities of the Research Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in organizing field work and administrative tasks related to Strengthening the Tuna Sampling Program
• Assist Tuna Sampling Program Officer in data management – that is including but not limited to, ensuring data are entered on a regular basis, maintenance of a proper filing system for completed datasheets, establishing and maintenance of a data backup system etc.
• Assist Tuna Sampling Program Officer in carrying out analysis and reporting of research outcomes.
• Assist in procurement of equipment and preparation of survey guides, data sheets, and other materials required for the research program.
• Carry out relevant literature research and prepare awareness materials on best practices of the respective fishery management.
• Maintain an adequate stock of field data sheet logbooks
• Assist in arranging workshops/trainings
• Preparation of awareness and outreach materials.
• Participation in field work and field surveys if needed.
• Assist in data management, research activities and participate in field trips of MMRI’s fishery related research activities when required.
