Position Overview

The Head of Credit is responsible for establishing and overseeing the Bank’s credit risk management framework, underwriting standards, and portfolio governance to ensure prudent growth and strong asset quality.

This is a key executive role supporting sustainable asset growth and strong credit quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Credit Risk Management Framework and Credit Policy
  • Provide independent oversight of credit approvals and underwriting quality
  • Monitor portfolio performance, asset quality, and emerging credit risks
  • Ensure compliance with MMA lending regulations and internal policies
  • Support structured and complex credit decision-making
  • Maintain strong credit controls and documentation standards

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, or Risk Management
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in credit risk management with senior leadership experience in banking and financial sector
• Strong expertise in SME, retail, and corporate credit
• Proven leadership in regulated financial institutions
• Must meet Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) fit-and-proper criteria
