SILVER SANDS Pvt. Ltd. was registered in the Maldives in 2000 with the aim of engaging in tourism related businesses. The company has been in travel business since its inception. In 2005 we got an opportunity to submit a bid to invest and manage dive and water sports schools on W Retreat and Spa Maldives and was awarded the to operate the diving and water sports facilities on W Retreat & Spa – Maldives. Silver Sands is the first 100% local company, if not one of the first, to penetrate into this dive and water sports, which has been, and still is, controlled by foreigners. Silver Sands has also been the pioneers to offer the “total solution” concept, which incorporates all water-based activities including diving, water sports, excursions, marine bioactivities, and all types of fishing. We come with the full investment in all the equipment, including the boats. This concept where Silver Sands operates all water-based activities including excursions and fishing and provides all the boats was welcomed by the said resorts as it freed the resorts of all investments, operational issues, running and maintenance costs connected with this equipment. In addition to W Retreat & Spa Maldives, we are currently operating dive and water sports operations, including excursions and fishing, on Anantara Dhigu, Anantara Veli, Naladhu Maldives, Huvafen Fushi, Velassaru Maldives, Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa Maldives, Robinson Club Maldives, Anantara Kihavah, Niyama Maldives, Raffles, The ST. Regis Vommuli Maldives, Kandima Maldives, Robinson Club Noonu, Vakkaru and Westin Maldives.
