Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital—formerly known as Thinadhoo Regional Hospital—is a long‑standing healthcare institution in the Maldives with a legacy of more than 55 years. Established in 1969, the hospital has evolved from a small regional facility into a modern, full‑service hospital that provides essential medical care to the communities of G.A. and G.Dh. Atoll. In 2024, it was renamed to honor Dr. Abdul Samad Abdulla, a former Foreign Minister of the Maldives and a significant contributor to the nation’s healthcare development. 1 Today, the hospital offers a wide range of services including laboratory testing, X-ray, dialysis, operation theatre services, CT scanning, and mammography, ensuring comprehensive and patient‑centered care for the region. It continues to expand and innovate while carrying forward the legacy of Dr. Abdul Samad Abdulla.
