Job title: Head Chef

  • Term: Full-time
  • Basic Salary: MVR 15,000.00+
  • Allowance and target bonuses applicable.
  • Probation period of 3 months applicable.

Overview

We are looking for an experienced, creative, and passionate head chef to join our team. As head chef, you will run the back-of-house. You will manage the daily operations of the kitchen, oversee the kitchen staff to ensure that the highest quality of cuisine is served to our guests, and ensure that all food and labor cost goals are met.

 

Event & Catering

Must be well organized in planning the menu, assigning duties to staff and preparing the food. Math acumen is required to ensure the cost of the food stays within prescribed budget guidelines. Good communication abilities are required to help the client make menu choices, negotiate the terms of the catering contract and direct and motivate staff.

Responsible for cooking and making it look not only edible but exquisite for special events - You may be responsible to prepare and present meals for a personalized small group of people or execute large scale catering orders.

 

Skills & Responsibility

  • Excellent cooking, baking and presentation skills.
  • Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the customer
  • Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
  • Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
  • Being responsible for health and safety
  • Being responsible for food hygiene practices

 

Requirement

  • Essential qualifications for this role include cooking skills, attention to details, time management, dexterity, teamwork, and organization. 
  • Those seeking to work should be able to display a degree from a culinary school in their resumes. 
  • Prior work experience of at least 5 years in similar positions.
