Background
Leo Trading Pvt Ltd, established in 2002, is the Maldives’ largest logistics and infrastructure services provider. With a workforce of over 600 employees and a diverse portfolio including heavy construction equipment leasing, maritime logistics, and infrastructure projects, the company requires strong financial systems to support its dynamic operations. At Leo Trading, the Accounts Assistant will play a key supporting role in ensuring financial accuracy and timely processing of transactions.
Purpose of the Role
The Accounts Assistant supports the Accounts & Finance Department by assisting in day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of payments and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable transactions
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation
Prepare bank and cash reconciliations
Assist with invoice verification, filing, and tracking
Provide support during audits
Collaborate with logistics, procurement teams and other teams for financial documentation
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance and/or Chief Financial Officer
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
One of the following qualifications is required:
o Completed GCE A’ Level with passes in at least 3 subjects, preferably in the Business stream
o Foundation in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
o Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Experience
Minimum 1 - 2 years of relevant accounting experience preferred
The following skills will be considered as added advantages
o Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
o Proficiency in accounting software such as e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, Odoo etc
o Strong attention to detail and accuracy
o Good organizational and time-management skills
