Faafu Atoll Council is a decentralized local government body established under the Local Councils Act (Law No. 7/2010) to strengthen local governance and public participation within Faafu Atoll. The Council is responsible for coordinating development planning, administrative functions, and public service delivery across all islands under its jurisdiction. Operating as an intermediary between Island Councils and the central government, Council plays a key role in atoll-level coordination. Its responsibilities include supporting Island Councils, coordinating development initiatives, advising on land use and environmental management, promoting social and economic development, and facilitating the effective implementation of government policies and services throughout the atoll.More Information
