"The Baarah Council of North Thiladhunmathi Atoll is a legal entity established under the Decentralization Act of the Maldives, which governs the administrative divisions of the country. The Council is composed of a President and four members, all of whom are democratically elected by the residents of Baarah. To facilitate the execution of the Council's decisions and mandates, an administrative secretariat has been established, headed by a Secretary General and supported by civil service staff.
