The Maldives Civil Service Commission was established by an Act of Parliament in 2007 to oversee and strengthen an independent and professional Civil Service in the Maldives. It is responsible for recruiting, appointing, promoting, transferring, and dismissing civil servants in accordance with the law, as well as determining the procedures governing these processes. The Commission also establishes procedures for organizing all Civil Service institutions to ensure uniform standards of administration and sets and plans standards and procedures to ensure that Civil Service functions are carried out efficiently and effectively within appropriate timeframes.
