Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs relating to our construction and development projects. Your goal will be to minimize project expenses and enhance value for money while still achieving the required standards and quality. You will play a key role in budget estimation, procurement, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Prepare initial cost estimates, feasibility studies, and detailed budgets for upcoming development projects.
- Tendering & Procurement: Manage the preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and contracts; assist in the evaluation of subcontractor bids.
- Financial Monitoring: Track project expenditures and provide regular reports on budget versus actual costs to ensure financial goals are met.
- Valuations & Claims: Prepare and certify interim valuations for subcontractors and manage final accounts and variation orders.
- Material Oversight: Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure materials are ordered within budget and meet project specifications.
- Liaison: Work closely with the Construction Project Manager and Finance to ensure all documentation is accurate and timely.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced) and specialized estimation software; familiarity with AutoCAD is essential for taking off measurements.
- Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical mindset with the ability to identify financial risks and provide cost-effective solutions.
- Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Integrity: Proven ability to manage budgets with a high degree of transparency and ethical standards.
Work Conditions
- Type: Full-time.
- Location: Based in Hulhumalé, with site visits to various project locations as required for measurements and audits.
- Contract: Candidates must be willing to sign a minimum 02-year contract.
- Probation: A mandatory 03-month probation period applies.
- Currency: Wages and remuneration will be paid in local currency (MVR).
