Job Description

Job Summary..

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with proven experience in the construction industry to manage end-to-end procurement activities for our projects. The role involves close coordination with engineers, sourcing and evaluating vendors, contract negotiations, import handling, and ensuring timely delivery of construction materials while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and consolidate material requirements from Engineers and project teams

• Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers for construction materials and services

• Plan purchases, negotiate contracts, and execute project-based material procurement

• Coordinate with Engineering and Finance teams for cost control and documentation

• Compare supplier quotations and finalize orders

• Arrange and process payments via TT / LC

• Monitor supplier production schedules and order progress

• Ensure appropriate transportation modes based on urgency and project timelines

• Collect, verify, and process shipping and customs documentation

• Track shipments to ensure on-time arrival at Malé Port

• Initiate customs clearance immediately upon arrival

• Obtain signed packing lists from stores after material receipt

• Resolve material discrepancies with suppliers

• Prepare landed cost calculations and transfer materials to the respective warehouse

Requirements:

• Minimum experience in procurement within the construction industry is mandatory

• Strong knowledge of construction materials, imports, and logistics

• Experience handling TT / LC, customs clearance, and shipping documentation

• Good coordination, negotiation, and communication skills
