Job Description

We are looking for an active and diligent Mason to be a part of our Construction team. You should be able to build new structures as well as undertake any restoration work. Your duties include polishing and installing blocks of stone, mixing cement, motor, and cutting/shaping materials. 

You should have the excellent physical strength and should be able to lift any heavy objects. Apart from this, you will be responsible for estimating the work completion period and ensuring that you meet the timeline. You should also be able to ascertain the labor and material costs upon reviewing the amount of work required. 

Your ability to interpret technical drawings and a keen eye for detail is an advantage. Apply right away if you can take up these responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking work for building new structures as well as restoring old and damaged ones

• Interpreting technical drawings and construction blueprints, if possible

• Cutting, polishing, and placing blocks of stone

• Mixing required quantities of cement and mortar

• Maintaining tools, equipment, and other materials in proper working order

• Supervising and training less experienced workers

• Cleaning work surfaces before and after work

• Undertaking work as per blueprints

• Reviewing workspaces to determine the material required

• Estimating material and labor costs

• Using chalk lines and tapes to outline the work area

• Checking measurements for proper alignments

• Coordinating with contractors on large-scale projects

• Assisting in creating building layouts and roofing structures

• Undertaking work as per customer requirements and specifications

• Ordering all supplies needed for the project

• Providing a work completion timeline

• Completing projects within the specified time and budget

• Wearing appropriate safety gear at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a construction unit

• Proficient in using modern and traditional tools

• Ability to carry heavy objects and work in extreme weather conditions

• Knowledge of traditional and modern masonry tools and techniques

• Physically and mentally fit

• Familiarity with Forklifts, dump trucks, and other required equipment

• Ability to work unsupervised 

• Having an eye for detail

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills

• Strong technical background

• Excellent dexterity skills

• Ability to multitask

• Ability to prioritize tasks and lead other members of the team
