The Role:
The Surveyor will be responsible for undertaking various surveying and data collection activities such as topographic surveying, setting out, engineering measurements, hydrographic surveys, and UAV mapping, while providing surveying support services across a wide range of projects.
Competencies:
- Fluent in Dhivehi and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work independently in field environments, with sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with modern surveying systems such as GNSS, UAV, USV, laser scanning, and GIS.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute surveying tasks efficiently while meeting project requirements.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to lead field teams and guide junior staff during field and office activities for assigned projects.
- Ability to coordinate and manage field operations for projects assigned by Water Solutions, ensuring work is carried out as per project scope and timelines.
- Minimum one year of professional surveying experience in similar roles.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or
- A Level with minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Basic proficiency in softwares such as CAD and/or GIS.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage surveying-related components of projects implemented by Water Solutions, in collaboration with the Chief Surveyor and project leads.
- Carry out and support data collection activities and preparation of survey drawings, layouts, and plans, including topographic, hydrographic, coastal, and infrastructure-related surveys.
- Undertake planning and execution of field surveys, site measurements, and observations required for survey analysis and project deliverables.
- Ensure effective communication and information sharing among internal teams, consultants, and relevant stakeholders during project implementation.
- Perform technical survey tasks and documentation as assigned for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Review survey plans, technical requirements, and project scopes to support survey execution and reporting activities.
- Prepare and review survey drawings, plans, layouts, maps, and technical documents for assigned projects.
- Support the preparation of survey-related inputs for tender documents, technical specifications, and consultancy proposals where required.
- Revise survey drawings, maps, and technical documents in response to comments from clients, regulatory authorities, and other reviewers.
- Check survey drawings, maps, and related documents for compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Lead and supervise field survey teams during assigned projects, ensuring surveys are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved methodologies.
