Assessing, diagnosing, screening to identify the speech, language and communication difficulty or disorder
Devise and deliver a suitable Treatment Program, working on a one-to-one basis or in groups, to enable each of the kids to improve as much as possible
Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required
Works on developing confidence, self-esteem and social skills to help achieve their maximum potential
Knowing when to use voice variation
Patience; as progress may be slow - involving repetitive exercises to aid kids who have problems memorizing, processing, and retaining information Qualities such as empathy, assertiveness, tact, a sense of humor, physical and mental stamina Provide timely and practical advice to parents and guardians and provide the knowledge and skills to them to assist in maximizing a child’s development at home.
Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress
Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
