Job Description

Job Summary:

The Snorkeling Guide is responsible for providing safe, educational, and enjoyable snorkeling tours for guests. The guide ensures that all participants are equipped with the necessary gear, follow safety protocols, and have an enjoyable experience exploring underwater environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct snorkeling tours: Lead groups on snorkeling excursions, ensuring participants' safety and enjoyment.
  • Provide safety briefings: Educate guests on snorkeling safety, equipment use, and marine life preservation.
  • Monitor guest safety: Stay vigilant and ensure all guests follow safety guidelines and are comfortable in the water.
  • Gear maintenance: Ensure all snorkeling equipment (masks, snorkels, fins) is clean, well-maintained, and properly fitted for guests.
  • First aid response: Be prepared to administer first aid in case of emergencies or accidents.
  • Environmental education: Teach guests about the local marine ecosystem, including the identification of fish, coral reefs, and other marine life.
  • Customer service: Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
  • Follow company protocols: Adhere to the company’s operational procedures, safety standards, and environmental policies.

Qualifications:

  • Swimming proficiency: Strong swimmer and comfortable in open water conditions.
  • Knowledge of marine environments: Understanding of local marine life, ecosystems, and conservation practices.
  • Experience: Prior experience in snorkeling or dive guiding, lifeguarding, or related roles preferred.
  • Physical fitness: Ability to swim and perform physically demanding tasks, often for extended periods.
  • Language skills: Fluency in English or multiple languages may be beneficial for interacting with diverse groups of tourists.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and ability to work with inexperienced swimmers.
  • Passion for marine life and environmental conservation.
