The Opportunity
Islanders Group is a Maldivian private investment group with more than 35 years of history and interests spanning real estate, construction, trading, technology and education across the Maldives and with presence in, Dubai, Singapore and Sri Lanka. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Executive to join the Directors’ Bureau and work directly alongside the Executive Director.
The Role
The Directors’ Bureau is the nerve centre of the group, supporting its directors in driving priorities to completion. As Senior Executive, you are the Executive Director’s principal coordinator ensuring information reaches the bureau in decision-ready form, time is spent on what matters most, and the many moving parts of a diversified group stay coordinated, tracked and on schedule.
Job Scope
- Project & Initiative Coordination — Maintain a complete, current view of all active projects across the group; drive progress, chase deliverables, remove blockers and ensure decisions are implemented.
- Executive Office & Time Management — Own the Executive Director’s calendar and complex international travel; prepare fully for every meeting; manage the daily and weekly rhythm of the office.
- Communications & Gatekeeping — Act as the first point of contact and filter; triage correspondence by priority; draft and respond on behalf of Directors with the right tone and judgement.
- Briefings & Decision Support — Prepare board-quality briefings, papers and presentations; research and distil complex information into clear, decision-ready outputs; leverage AI and digital tools.
- Stakeholder Management — Liaise with directors, group companies, advisors, partners and institutional and government contacts; build trusted relationships across the group’s network.
- Systems & Follow-Through — Maintain reliable systems for tracking tasks, projects and commitments; bring order, structure and disciplined follow-up to the office.
- Private Office & Personal Affairs — Coordinate the Executive Director’s personal matters, appointments and family logistics alongside business affairs, with absolute care.
What We Are Looking For
- A genuinely high-calibre intellect — exceptionally organised, quick to learn, and able to operate with limited direction.
- Several years’ experience in a senior executive-support, business-management, consulting, operations or comparable delivery role.
- Outstanding written and spoken English and Dhivehi, with sound, mature judgement and strong interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, high-ownership mindset, strong work ethic and real energy — someone who makes things happen.
- Absolute integrity and trustworthiness.
- Fluency with technology, digital tools and AI.
- Desirable: a strong academic record; multi-business or family-group / private-office experience; Dhivehi; and familiarity with one or more of the group’s sectors.
