Kankei Maldives Cargo Services is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the accounting and financial reporting requirements of Kankei's multi-company, multi-currency operations. Based at our Hulhumalé office. The role covers accounting work across Kankei's wider international freight forwarding, logistics, sourcing, trading and warehousing operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain full-set accounts and prepare separate financial statements for multiple legal entities, plus combined monthly management reports.
- Complete monthly closing, reconciliations and management reporting within seven working days of month-end.
- Manage intercompany balances, clearing accounts and monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Handle multi-currency banking, foreign exchange gains and losses, and exchange-rate records.
- Manage receivables, collections, ageing reports and control of customer funds held for supplier payments.
- Process supplier payments and payables, and perform bank reconciliations and cash-position forecasting.
- Prepare budgets, cash-flow forecasts and shipment-, project- and customer-level profitability analysis.
- Handle payroll, MIRA filings and statutory compliance, and coordinate with auditors, banks and external accountants.
- Set up and maintain accounting systems (Zoho Books), policies, approval workflows and internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage full-set accounts.
- Sound knowledge of IFRS, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, receivables and payables.
- Experience preparing management accounts, cash-flow forecasts and financial statements.
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Preferred: multi-company and multi-currency accounting experience; background in freight forwarding, logistics, trading or warehousing; audit or tax compliance experience; Zoho Books or similar accounting software.
