Purpose of the Role
To install, maintain, and repair Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection Systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with technical standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Technician will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Install, modify, maintain, program, and repair Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Systems.
- Test all systems and equipment post-repair to ensure proper functionality.
- Install readers, cameras, door position switches, tamper switches, panels, and NVRs.
- Conduct maintenance service calls at customer sites.
- Diagnose and repair/replace wiring, devices, and both analog and digital control panels.
- Maintain and repair system components including circuit cards, power supplies, software, and copper/fiber optic platforms.
- Serve as a technical advisor on system programming and configuration.
- Install and program various access control devices and panels.
- Install analog and digital IP CCTV camera systems.
- Install cable pathway systems (e.g., cable trays, racks, J-hooks, D-rings).
- Terminate, test, label, and document horizontal and backbone cabling.
- Troubleshoot and repair alarm system hardware and electronic surveillance devices.
- Prepare purchase requests for required materials.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the IT Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in installation and maintenance of security systems.
- Technical knowledge of access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
- Familiarity with both analog and IP-based systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
