Job Purpose:
The Assistant Teacher plays a crucial role in supporting the main teacher in delivering MindChamps’ unique curriculum and methodologies while ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. They assist in classroom management, subject content delivery, and teaching practices, operating under clear guidelines and established work practices. In the absence of the main teacher, the Assistant Teacher may take on direct teaching responsibilities.
Additionally, they contribute to school programs, curriculum development, and co-curricular activities while receiving structured support, mentoring, and guidance from experienced educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Classroom support:
- Assist in planning and implementing teaching programs under the guidance of the main teacher and leading teachers.
- Support the direct teaching of student groups and individuals when required.
- Maintain a child-safe environment in accordance with child protection standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress in key learning areas.
- Assist in preparing and conducting student assessments and reporting on performance.
- Implement strategies to achieve student learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of class attendance and student progress.
- Support effective student management aligned with the school’s strategic plan.
- Participate in professional development activities and training programs.
- Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation within the school.
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Supervise student activities, including support and welfare programs.
- Engage in co-curricular programs and school operations.
- Participate in school development and curriculum enhancement initiatives.
- Undertake professional development and contribute to school-wide training programs.
- Ensure compliance with the Education Act of Maldives, the Law on the Protection of the Rights of Children, and other relevant regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or immediate supervisor.
