Reporting to: Manager – Risk & Compliance
Key tasks, responsibilities, and deliverables:
- Oversee daily operational activities of the Risk and Compliance Department to ensure effective implementation of Corporations Risk Management policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with internal Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular reviews of the Corporation Risk Environment, identify, assess, and report key risks to management, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Support the implementation and updating of the risk appetite framework and risk register.
- Review and conduct assessments of the Corporations AML/CFT framework, ensuring compliance with all local and international laws, regulations, industry standards and Corporate Governance principles.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the training programs aimed at enhancing Risk and AML/CFT awareness within the Corporation
- Work closely with all functional areas to identify potential areas of risk vulnerability and develop corrective action plans.
- Coordinate and actively support in developing and continually seeking to review and improve risk management, compliance and AML/CFT policies and procedures.
- Promote cultural awareness of risk management practices within the Corporation and conduct training/awareness programs on regular basis.
- Provide support for ad hoc requests as required by the Management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- MQA level 7 qualification Legal / Audit / Accounting and Finance / Business Management / Compliance / Banking / AML/CFT with 05 years’ experience in relevant field .
Other Competencies required:
- Demonstrate awareness of and exposure to bank operations, systems, processes, internal policies and procedures, and industry best practice for Risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international risk management standards, legal and regulatory frameworks, and corporate governance principles.
- Analytical approach and proactive attitude to managing issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing risk and compliance issues.
- Applicants with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office will be given higher priority.
- Excellent interpersonal skills along with communication skills including verbal and written, with strong emphasis on report writing and presentation capabilities.
- Excellent computer skills including processing of word documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Familiarity with trade, economic development, and development of private sector in the Maldives.
- Candidates holding professional certifications in Banking, AML/CFT, or Compliance will be given priority
Remuneration package:
- Gross pay is between MVR 24,350– MVR 25,900 depending on the Qualification and Experience.

Working Hours:
- The selected applicant will be required to work from 0800 to 1600 on weekdays.
