Bachelor’s degree in accounting, auditing, Finance or equivalent qualification.
3 years (Minimum 2 years’) experience in auditing.
Minimum 1 year’s senior management experience in a corporate environment
Knowledge in application of IFRS, ISA and IPPF
Key responsibilities:
Lead Internal Audit’s change initiative by implementing action plans related to risk assessment and annual planning, audit execution, audit reporting, staff recruiting and development, audit technology, and Audit Committee reporting.
Review adequacy of internal controls.
Review implementation of internal controls.
Implement the annual work plan for internal audit with a fixed plan of activities but also allowing for appropriate investigation time for matters that emerge over the year.
Responds to matters that emerge from appropriate referring bodies (the Board of Directors, MD, and other senior executives).
Assists the Board with establishing ethics policy and whistle blowing procedures.
Periodically reviews and recommends updates in corporate accounting policies and procedures framework.
Lead Internal Audit’s annual risk assessment and enterprise risk assessment and planning process to develop the audit plan.
Proactively inform senior management of significant risks or exposures related to internal controls, compliance, and/or governance requiring prompt attention.
Create report on final assessment of internal controls over financial reporting for the fiscal year-end for management’s review.
Actively participate in executive management meetings and/or committees to ensure that Internal Audit is well-informed of key business developments that could have an impact on audit priorities and/or plans.
