MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT
Bachelors Degree in relevant field with minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant field.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
- Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
- Develops and implements speech therapy treatment programs based on each patient’s speech and language disorder/diagnosis with appropriate documentation after each patient visit.
- Reviews referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine speech therapy treatment required.
- Instructs, motivates, and assists patient by administering treatment, and other speech and language services according to the scope of practice.
- Maintains current evidence-based practice knowledge and monitors changing trends in the speech therapy industry.
- Serves as a resource to other health care staff, family members, and referring physicians or agency staff.
- Facilitates communication with potential referral sources in order to expand the existing business and cultivate new business.
- Confers with physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, discuss equipment used, and suggest revisions in treatment program.
- Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
- Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
