Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:      

  1. Organise and maintain own workload.
  2. Administer appropriate assessments and diagnosing.
  3. When necessary provide recommendations for appropriate treatment/intervention.
  4. Plan and provide appropriate treatment/intervention.
  5. Development of IEP while collaborating with clients and parents.
  6. Provide direct client care (interventions) in one-to-one and group settings following the prescribed skill acquisition and modification protocols.
  7. Follow and record data for prescribed protocols.
  8. Maintain clinical notes, assessment records, tests, and other client related documents in a safe and secure manner.
  9. Liaise with parents/caregivers and teachers training in line with client’s individualised treatment and behaviour modification protocols.
  10. Effectively communicate with parents, caregivers and teachers regarding the client's treatment progress.
  11. Preparation of client’s assessment reports.
  12. Preparation of necessary documents for clients (Eg: NSPA letters, Letters of recommendations).
  13. Utilise safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  14. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work and therapy environment.
  15. Monitor and safe maintenance of psychological assessment resources.
  16. Collaborate with a treatment team including clients, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, interns, and co-workers.
  17. Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training.
  18. Conduct staff training when necessary
  19. Provide team consultations when necessary.
  20. Attend and participate in clinical meetings.
  21. Participate/conduct awareness programs to the public when necessary.
  22. Participate and assist in research conducted at the organisation.
  23. Supervise and guide the interns and assistance psychologists
  • Supervisory role includes:
  • Training the supervisees as appropriate and when necessary.
  • Assist the supervisee in clarifying, exploring, thinking, reflecting on feelings and perceptions underlying their work practice.
  • Give clear, concise and constructive feedback where appropriate.
  • Facilitate appropriate information, experience and skill sharing.
  • Monitor that the supervisees are coping with their clinical workload and address issues of burnout etc. as required.
