Post: Senior Legal Officer

Department: Corporate and Legal Affairs
Reporting to: Manager-Corporate and Legal Affairs
Key tasks, responsibilities, and deliverables:
- Providing timely and appropriate legal advice and opinion in accordance with laws, regulations, and authority
- To represent SDFC in any lawsuits or legal proceedings
- Assist in preparing documents for litigation and other purposes of the department.
- To review, draft and advise on service contracts, by-laws, and other documents.
- Drafting Contracts, Agreements and other required legal documentation related to loans and assigned by HODs.
- Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and taking timely and appropriate action and advising the company on relevant changes.
- Conduct legal research.
- Maintaining records of and respond to requests from external parties.
- Maintaining of legal documentations
- Translation of legal documents from English to Dhivehi and vice versa.
- Any other legal related and internal organizational service work assigned by HODs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum MQA level 7/8 qualification in Law or,
- Must have a license to practice in superior level courts.
Other Competencies required:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical work.
- Capable of Interpreting laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses
- Strong verbal and written communicational skills in English and Dhivehi
- Should be familiar with the Microsoft office package.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a highly team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of the local business environment.
- Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with trade, economic development, and development of private sector in the Maldives.
Remuneration package:
- Gross pay between MVR 19,500 – MVR 20,500 depending on the Qualification and Experience.

Working Hours:
- The selected applicant will be required to work from 0800 to 1600 on weekdays.
