-Ensuring all the cabins, including the seats, furniture, carpets, lavatories and public area are clean and in good welcoming condition before the passengers board the ship.
- Greeting passengers upon entering a cabin and providing them with information about the ship’s amenities.
- Replenishing supplies when necessary.
- Checking all safety regulations in the cabins, including life jackets and fire extinguishers, to ensure they are up-to-date and in working order.
- Responding to passenger requests, inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Assisting passengers with their luggage upon arrival and departure from the ship.
- Ensuring cabin amenities such as television, mini-bars, etc., are functioning properly.
- Reporting any maintenance issues in cabins to the captain in a timely manner.
- Making regular rounds of all cabins to check for operational issues, cleanliness and safety hazards.
- Following instructions from the captain and performing other related duties as assigned.
- Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor with passengers at all times.
- Following established safety protocols for handling hazardous materials, such as cleaning chemicals.
- Keeping up to date on changes in safety protocols or operational standards related to the position of cabin steward.
- Performing general cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping and scrubbing surfaces as needed.
- Checking cabins for any signs of damage or disrepair and report them to the Captain.
- Serving food, cleaning the tables.
