PAYMENT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR / TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
Job Scope
The Payment Systems Administrator is responsible for the technical configuration, support, and maintenance of the Bank’s electronic payment systems. This includes card issuing systems, ATMs, POS terminals, and integration points with external payment networks. The role ensures that payment services remain reliable, secure, and compliant, supporting smooth and uninterrupted customer transactions.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Configuration
- Administer and maintain card management systems, payment switch platforms, and acquiring/issuing systems.
- Set up card profiles, BIN ranges, routing rules, terminal IDs, and network configurations as required.
- Monitor transaction processing and switch performance to ensure real-time availability and accuracy.
Monitoring & Support
- Monitor the status of payment systems, ATMs, POS terminals, and host integrations.
- Investigate and resolve issues related to failed transactions, reconciliation mismatches, or system errors.
- Provide second-level support to users and internal departments on payment system-related incidents.
Security & Compliance
- Apply security patches and configuration updates to payment platforms in accordance with the Bank’s policies.
- Support regular audits, vulnerability scans, and remediation efforts to ensure compliance with PCI DSS and regulatory standards.
- Enforce security protocols for transaction data, cardholder information, and authentication mechanisms.
Testing & Change Management
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and patch implementations by conducting thorough UAT and validations.
- Maintain change control documentation and track configuration changes in line with IT governance.
- Support business and technical teams in testing new payment features, cards, or services.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of card system configurations, integration setups, terminal inventory, and performance logs.
- Prepare daily and monthly reports on transaction volumes, system uptime, and incident resolution.
- Document SOPs and troubleshooting guides to standardize payment system management.
Collaboration
- Coordinate with vendors, switching partners, and card networks to address technical issues and maintain SLA compliance.
- Liaise with Security, Infrastructure, and Application teams for system integrations and infrastructure planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Knowledge of payment systems (card issuing/acquiring, ATM/POS), switch platforms, and ISO 8583 protocols.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in payment systems support or administration within a banking or fintech environment.
- Hands-on experience with switch systems, card systems, and ATM/POS networks.
- Experience working in PCI DSS-compliant environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with Visa, Mastercard, and local payment schemes.
- Basic understanding of card lifecycle management, cryptography, and EMV standards.
- Experience with payment system tools, log analysis, and incident tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
