NETWORK SECURITY ANALYST / TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

JOB SCOPE

In a nutshell, you’d be required to monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and patch network equipment to ensure the Bank’s network IT infrastructure is maintained up to defined standards. You’d review daily alerts from the Security Operation Center and the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system and resolve them. You’d attend to issues highlighted in security assessments and resolve them on a timely manner. You’d also attend to routine and other operational tasks related to network security and IT infrastructure.

Being a member of the Network, Infrastructure & Support Unit of the Technology department, you’d closely work with the Infrastructure, Network Operations, Security Operation Center and Service Desk teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review reports and alerts from the Security Operations Center (SOC) and SIEM system.
• Troubleshoot problems highlighted in the SOC and SIEM reports by deploying security patches, updates and configuration of network and network devices within the established timeframes and service levels.
• Review reports and issues from various security audits and assessments and resolve those issues within the established timeframes and service levels.
• Record, track progress and report all troubleshooting tasks to the Information Security Administrator and Head of Network, Infrastructure & Support Unit.
• Manage all daily activities including monitoring, maintenance, tracking, reporting, and problem resolution for the Network Security team.
• Information security and cybersecurity threat and vulnerability analysis.
• Investigate, document, and report on any information security and cybersecurity issues as well as emerging trends.
• Analyze and plan response to previously unknown hardware and software vulnerabilities.
• Provide second level technical support to users concerning network security.
• Install updates and security patches to network equipment and software.
• Respond to security incidents in accordance with the Bank’s incident response policies and procedures.
• Enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards regarding the network, security, compliance and use of the Bank’s computer and information assets.

 

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Certificate in IT, Computer Science, or similar field.
• Industry certifications or trainings relevant to the role will be an added advantage.
• Cisco certifications such as CCNA and CCNP.
• EC-Council certifications such as SOC Analyst and Ethical Hacker.
• ITIL/ITSM related certifications.
• Excellent logical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with direct reports, senior management, and other departments.
• Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment.

 

 

 

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an IT security, infrastructure, or operations role.
• Strong fundamental technical knowledge and experience with networks, network devices, systems, and general IT systems.
• Technical experience including the following.
  • SIEM systems
  • Network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, servers and storage systems.
  • Diagnosing and problem-solving technical issues and resolving them.
  • Updating and patching operating systems, endpoint security systems, computers, servers and network equipment.
