Job Description
General Requirements
Medical Degree and must be a registered Medical Practitioner
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Medical Director or in Medical Administration with a proven successful track record of delivering high quality services in a large complex multidisciplinary healthcare environment
Excellent communication skills and proficient in both written and verbal English
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work in a diverse environment
International experience is an added advantage
Job Specification
Responsible for the overall management and day-to-day functions of the Medical Services and oversee the Ancillary Services of the hospital
Work closely with the Executive Committee to implement strategies that enhance patient care and improve medical practice
Effective leadership to ensure that all doctors are complying with company policies when providing care
Support the recruitment of doctors to ensure that they have the appropriate credentials and experience to undertake the required services
Responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements and standards of the hospital
Provide medical leadership to the organization’s emergency planning arrangements
Responsible for working with the management in finalizing operational plans to promote quality, safety and productivity throughout the organization
Develop and implement clinical related strategies to improve quality and efficiency of Medical Services
Responsible for training and ensuring the continuous education of doctors
Promote a positive work environment that encourages innovations in patient care and evaluates outcomes including the development of the hospital’s approach to Evidence Based Practice and Knowledge Management
Assist in quality improvement including attending to patient complaints, infection control and development of appropriate criteria to address quality improvement standards
Ensure high standards of care in Medical, Dental and Ancillary services
Defines protocols and assist in decision making pertaining to the medical care of the patients that is in line with the current medical practice and guidelines
Maintain, review and update medical policies and procedures
Provides support to other medical and administrative staff
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
