Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related field
Minimum 6 years’ experience in healthcare data, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Familiarity of laws pertaining to the safe keeping of medical information and international medical diagnosis coding systems
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
Experience in international and multi-cultural environment is an added advantage
Job Specification
Implement all policies and procedures relevant for the creation, maintenance and storage of patient medical records, both manual and electronic clinical information to meet Maldivian medico-legal requirements and JCI Standards.
Work closely with IT and HIS Vendor in successfully implementing and maintaining eHealth Systems
Manage and maintain the medical record systems within the medical record department giving full regard to medico-legal, economic and service delivery consequence
Collation and analysis of morbidity, mortality and hospital performance data as required
Conduct presentations with clinicians as part of an ongoing clinical information education and awareness
Implement and up-keep manual filing and index system to ensuring that medical records are retrievable in a timely manner when required for the clinical care of the patient and/or approved research purposes
Ensure all policy matters governing clinical information (medical records) are observed at all times
Manage and assist with clinical coding
Accurate and timely production of all Maldivian Statutory reporting requirements, routine and ad hoc TTH Management reports
