Job Description

To work as part of the Marine lab team to conduct and maintain all conservation and research projects, house reef maintenance; assist in the collation of data and in the environmental education program for guests, students and interns. To do this by liaising with all other departments, visiting scientists and guests.

 

Essential Job Skills

• Good spoken and written English
• Strong swimming ability
• Computer literate: MS Office
• Commitment to the environment

 

Desirable Job Skills

• Public speaking and presentations
• SCUBA certified or ability and willingness to be certified
• Thorough knowledge of hotel operations
• Proven track record in hotel of similar standard in similar capacity within the country.
• Video and photo editing experience

 

Physical Requirements

• Strong swimmer
• Physically fit and healthy: SCUBA diver certified or ability and willingness to be certified
• Willing to work long hours, physically demanding environment

 

Able to manage time in absence of supervision

Subject to direct supervision from Marine Lab Coordinator or Marine Lab Manager and general supervision from Director of Conservation.

Enthusiastic positive and proactive attitude. Cooperative with a strong teamwork ethic. Environmentally aware. Willing to learn

Excellent interpersonal skills required. Interacts principally with guests and colleagues.

Must be fluent in English, other languages beneficial.
