Marine Electro-mechanical Technician
Responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electro-mechanical systems onboard vessels. This includes propulsion systems, pumps, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, control panels, automation equipment, and auxiliary machinery, ensuring all systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in demanding tropical marine environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair pumps, motors, hydraulic systems, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot and service automation systems, including PLC-based controls.
- Assist with generator overhauls and propulsion system support.
- Ensure compliance with the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation | Maldives, and IMO technical standards.
- Support dockyard repairs and maintenance within shipyards.
Requirements
- Diploma in Electromechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
- Proven experience on marine vessels, preferably in tropical or high-humidity environments.
- Strong knowledge of corrosion prevention and saltwater system maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a marine engineering team.
