Job Description

Marine AC Technician

Responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems onboard vessels, ensuring reliable operation and optimal climate control on passenger ferries, cargo vessels, and supply vessels. 

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Service and troubleshoot compressors, chillers, condensers, evaporators, and cold rooms.
• Monitor and manage refrigerant handling in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Maintain temperature-controlled storage areas for food supplies, beverages, and medical items.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure system efficiency and prevent corrosion damage.
• Diagnose faults and carry out timely repairs to minimize operational downtime.

Requirements 

• HVAC or Refrigeration certification or equivalent technical qualification.
• Proven experience working with marine or tropical climate HVAC systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of environmentally approved refrigerants and safe refrigerant handling practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills in refrigeration and cooling systems.
