Job Description


The Assistant Secretary General (ASG) supports the President and Secretary General in leading and managing the overall strategic, administrative and program/event activities of the organization. The ASG ensures effective coordination across members, other tourism industry representatives of the organization and helps implement policies and decisions made by the Board and senior leadership.

The Assistant Secretary General (ASG) supports the President and Secretary General in leading and managing the organization’s overall strategic, administrative, and program/event-related activities. The ASG ensures effective coordination among members and representatives from the tourism industry, and assists in implementing policies and decisions set by the Board and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the President and Secretary General in the development and execution of strategic plans and organizational goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the Secretariat and member organizations or external institutions including GoV offices.
  • Support fundraising and donor relations through proposal development and reporting.
  • Represent the organization in international, regional, and national events, as delegated.
  • Build strategic partnerships and networks with governments, civil society, and sponsors.
  • Supervise selected staff or departments as assigned.
  • Manage special projects and assignments on behalf of the Organization.

Qualifications & Experience:

✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
✔️ Minimum 2-years of senior management experience related field
✔️ Proven experience in strategic planning, governance, and program oversight.
✔️ Strong diplomatic, communication, and negotiation skills.
✔️ Familiarity with global tourism development
