Job Description

Job Brief:

We are looking for a Legal Officer to support our Legal Department in overseeing our diverse portfolio through day-to-day operational legal work, contract drafting/review, negotiation support, legal administration, and projects across the business. This is a hands-on role working closely with internal teams and requires strong coordination ability, discretion, professionalism, and a collaborative working style in a fast-moving environment to propose practical solutions, and support timely outcomes.

You will also support the Legal Department by conducting legal research, preparing timely and accurate internal guidance, assisting with compliance matters, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The role includes liaising with regulatory authorities and supporting the business in meeting applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in law.
• Minimum 1 - 2 years working experience in the legal field.
• Holding a license to practice law in the Maldives will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of the legal system with demonstrated capacity for professional legal work.

Skills & Competencies:

• Work closely with internal teams to understand operational needs, propose practical solutions, and support timely outcomes.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal work; attention to detail and accuracy.
• Prepare redlines, issue lists, and summaries to support negotiation.
• Support legal research and other projects, and administration of legal tasks.
• Good analytical, research, and negotiations skills.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to priorities and urgent business needs.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
