Job Description

To safely operate and manage the assigned speedboat (launch) for the transportation of guests, staff, and goods, ensuring compliance with Maldivian maritime regulations and delivering high standards of safety and service.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Maldivian Speedboat / Launch Captain License 
• Certificate in coastal navigation 
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a speedboat captain 
• Strong knowledge of Maldivian waters and navigation routes 
• Familiarity with marine communication systems and GPS 
• Good command of English and Dhivehi 
• Physically fit and able to work flexible hours 

Key Responsibilities

Vessel Operation & Navigation 

• Operate the speedboat safely under all weather and sea conditions 
• Navigate using GPS, radar, charts, and local knowledge 
• Plan routes and adjust according to weather and sea conditions 
• Dock and undock vessels safely in harbors, jetties, and resorts 

Safety & Compliance 

• Ensure safety of passengers, crew, and vessel at all times 
• Conduct pre-departure safety checks (engine, fuel, safety equipment) 
• Enforce safety procedures and provide passenger safety briefings 
• Comply with all Maldives maritime laws and company policies 
• Respond effectively to emergencies (man overboard, fire, breakdown, etc.) 

Maintenance & Technical Duties 

• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the vessel 
• Monitor engine performance, fuel levels, and equipment functionality 
• Report faults, damages, or defects to management immediately 
• Ensure vessel cleanliness and readiness at all times 

Passenger & Guest Service 

• Provide professional and friendly experience to guests 
• Assist passengers with boarding, luggage, and seating 
• Maintain high standards of hospitality, especially for resort transfers 

Crew Supervision 

• Supervise crew onboard 
• Assign tasks and ensure discipline, grooming, and teamwork 
• Train junior crew on safety and boat operations 

Documentation & Reporting 

• Maintain accurate logs (trips, fuel, maintenance) 
• Record incidents, weather conditions, and operational data 
• Ensure all licenses, permits, and documents are valid and onboard 

Benefits & Conditions of Employment

• The candidate should be willing to sign a minimum 02-year contract. 
• Required to complete a mandatory period of 03 months’ probation.
• Annual leave after completion of 1 year.
