Job Description
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Carry out routine laboratory work for thalassemia screening including phlebotomy, complete haemogram, blood picture analysis and electrophoresis.
Participation in field trips as required.
Participation in awareness raising programs as required.
Provide Genetic counselling to identified carriers and couples at risk.
Data entry for Thalassemia and updating of laboratory statistics.
Ensure that all laboratory supplies and equipment, including emergency stock, are utilized appropriately and stored appropriately.
Coordinating in house training.
Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and preparation of reagents in lab.
