Salary and Benefits

MVR 20,000 - MVR 34,000
· Punctual monthly salary payment in USD or MVR (as preferred)
· Legally mandated service charge plus a share of guest gratuities in addition to base salary
· Salary, Service Charge and Bonuses: USD 1000-1700 or MVR 20,000-34,000 per month
· Annual employment contract with the possibility of renewal
· 30 days of annual leave
· Additional 2 weeks company holiday from early December to mid-December (starting 2028)
· Rotational shore leave in Hulhumalé after each trip
· Annual dry dock maintenance and refurbishment during low season (July and August)

Job Description

Position Details

• Location: Homeport Hulhumalé, Maldives

• Tour Duration: 12 Days / 11 Nights

• Operating Areas: Predominately Central Atolls, Mid-Southern Atolls and Mid-Nothern Atolls

 

Your Responsibilities

• Command and navigation of the dive Dhoni during 12-day liveaboard safaris

• In-depth knowledge of dive sites in the operating areas

• Confident use of modern navigation systems and equipment

• Full responsibility for vessel care, maintenance, and engine upkeep

• Leadership and coordination of two experienced deckhands assisting in daily operations

Important Notice

• Candidates must be aware that no vacation can be taken during the high season. Annual leave must be scheduled exclusively during the designated low season and company holiday periods.

 

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Dhoni or dive boat captain in the Maldives

• Extensive knowledge of central and northern Maldivian dive sites

• Strong technical understanding of marine engines and vessel systems

• Reliable, responsible, and team-oriented personality

• Basic English communication skills
